The Best Skiing in Upstate New York

Ski Resort in Upstate New York

There are plenty of reasons to visit Upstate New York this winter, but the opportunity to ski at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort is one of the best. Though Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort is a fun four-season destination, as is the surrounding Lake Placid area, it transforms into a truly magical winter wonderland in the winter.

Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort is located in the Adirondacks, an area of Upstate New York known for its vast protected wilderness, stunning natural scenery, and a wide variety of outdoor activities.  It's also home to some of the best skiing in Upstate New York!

As great as the skiing here is, that's not all winter has in store for you.  Upstate New York also has plenty of wonderful places to enjoy other snowsports like cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice skating, and so much more. It's this diversity of things to do in Upstate New York that makes it such an extraordinary getaway destination, too. That is especially true when you stay with a Select Registry property.

This winter, enjoy more than a beautiful and adventure-filled Upstate New York Getaway. Our Inns offer more than just a warm bed and a hearty meal in the morning.  When you Stay Select, it means you're choosing an experience filled with incomparable authenticity and an uncompromising dedication to excellence.

Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort is calling - don't miss your opportunity to ski these legendary slopes this winter.  Book your getaways now!

Ski at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort

Though there are quite a few places to ski in Upstate New York, and up and down the eastern seaboard, for that matter, there's nothing that quite compares to the legendary slopes at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort. It is heralded as Upstate New York's premier ski resort, and for a good reason. It's located just 13 miles from Lake Placid, too, which means it's easy to get up and to the mountain when you want to ski, and it doesn't take forever to get back to your accommodations (or to dinner) when you're done.

With a vertical drop of more than 3,400 feet and 90+ trails for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy, there's what feels like endless fun to be had on the slopes of Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort. This is the biggest vertical drop of any ski resort east of the Rockies!

It's best to buy tickets online and in advance, as they may sell out - especially during popular weekends and breaks. During holiday periods, walk-up tickets won't be available.
