Without a reservation we were still warmly greeted and given a perfect table in this historic inn's main restaurant, situated on the green in the pretty town of Dorset.

The waitress worked hard and was very helpful as were the other staff. My Dorset Inn salad was perfectly fine but nothing out of the ordinary and not large. I had grilled 6oz salmon added. My husband had a more unique but small beet and goat cheese salad with an added patty. We added the two small dinner rolls. The price for this and one iced tea was over $100!!
(including tax and tip). The high price is the reason for only 4 stars. Charging for small dinner rolls just doesn't sit right. For the same price we ate at Barrows House two nights earlier and the food, value, creativity, and overall experience was much more memorable and substantial. And the (same?) dinner rolls were included at no charge.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Dorset Inn!! We were pleasantly surprised by all of the amenities and level of hospitality! Everyone at the Inn were so very friendly and the restaurant team was absolutely superb!! Wonderful breakfast was ready for us in the morning, both at the Inn and also at the Dorset Bakery. We had a separate living room and the area was so cozy/comfortable that really added to the ambiance! On top of everything, the Inn front desk staff gave us many useful tips for the activities we did in Dorset/Manchester during our stay. Walking distance to multiple hiking trails in Dorset and only a short 15 minute drive to Manchester.
I would 100% suggest the Dorset Inn to anyone visiting Southern Vermont and cannot wait to come back!
